I've been working on portraits so much that it's taken up most of my drawing time. I miss the simpler things like trees and mountains so today at lunch I drew this tree.
with fish in 'new asia food' in berlin danckelmannstr, as the only guest. the host did grow an impressive grey beard, that unfortunately is hidden behind the counter, where he sits, working on something and occasionally receives orders via phone.
Situational awareness is important these days. Pre-pandemic, I sometimes take my doodles to coffee shops during my lunch breaks and relax for half an hour or so by mindlessly scribbling/shading with my Bic pen. People usually leave me alone but this drawing made me realise that not everyone wants to see a man drawing a naked man. A few people took exception to my subjects’ lack of clothing and made their displeasure known by telling me. The pink flower vine butterfly is inspired by a a mailbox I walked by during my lunch break. These vibrant pink flowers were wrapped around the entire box. I thought 'what a romantic way to receive your mail.'.
Sketch from lunch break in between work-hours (poor quality sketch/photo). unrelated: I walk home from work 3/5 days every week, and I have leveled up a social link with a kind old stranger I frequently see /occasionally talk with on the walks home. This will unlock the good ending later, though I'm not sure what that ending is. Just hope it happens soon.
